Slow Process of Scholarships, Achieving Students “Scream”

Students who successfully incised achievements in the arena of international Olympiad scholarship ought to be entitled to a pre-eminent as has been promised by the Government of Indonesia. In fact, it’s outstanding students complain about how slow the process of winning the scholarship disbursement.

The slow disbursement of scholarships to outstanding students concerned and confused when they want to continue studying abroad. The reason, they are often confronted with different situations; including waiting for disbursement of scholarship that is always late or bind themselves to a contract with the university’s study abroad.

“Scholars have always promised the release of late. I heard it from friends who first get a scholarship abroad. Scholarship we are losing fast melting of the contract offered by universities abroad,” said Olympic bronze medalist in Chemistry 2009, Stephen Hanniel Yuwono, Tuesday (05/07/2011) night, in Jakarta.

Students who graduated this year from SMAN 1 Navan was told the reason binding contract with the National University of Singapore (NUS). According to him, universities in Singapore are more proactive invites outstanding students to continue studying in Singapore through a letter sent to school. Generally, the students perform a binding contract with universities abroad are not interested in waiting for a scholarship from the Government of Indonesia’s new liquid after the first semester is completed, or only able to go to college the following year. Indonesian Students Won Gold Medals in Biology Olympiad

The team of Indonesia, which participated in the International Biology Olympiad (International Biology Olympiad – IBO) 20th in 12 to 18 July 2009 in Tsukuba, Japan, won a gold medal. Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the press release here on Monday (20 / 1), mentions the gold medal was a donated gift for Erlaut, class XII student, high school Kharisma Nations, Tangerang.

Olympics held in celebration of 200 years coinciding Charles Darwin and 150 years of the publication of The Origin of Species, the Indonesian team also won a silver medal and one bronze medal, won by each class X Haris Irfan, SMAN 1 Pringsewu, Lampung and Elbert Wijaya class XII student, SMANK 1 Sower Jakarta.

This year’s IBO was followed by delegates from 56 countries by the number of students 221 people, plus the four countries as observers.

Indonesia strengthened team of four students from several schools in Indonesia. In addition Erlaut Grace, Harris Irfan, and Elbert Wijaya, other participants are Crysnanto Danang, a class XI student, SMAN 1 Wonogiri. The four students accompanied by coaches Tim IBO Indonesia consisting of Dr. Agus Permana Fund, Dr R Maelita Moeis, Dr. Devi Nandita Choesin, Dr. Iriawati of SITH – ITB, Dr Unair Sucipto Hariyanto of Biology, and Ir Gunardi Sihhatmanahadi of the Ministry of Education.
